During the last 49 years Post 3404 was an "All State Post" 8 times, receiving this recognition twice during the 1996-1998 tenure of one Post Commander and again in 2013 and 2014 during the tenure of another Post Commander. VFW Post 3404 Mission

The objects of the Veterans of Foreign Wars are fraternal, patriotic, historical and educational; to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws: to foster true patriotism, to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom; and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies, whomsoever.

U. S. Congressman Billy Long prepared and presented a speech on the floor of the U. S. House of Congress about Post 3404 receiving the All American Award.  His speech was printed in the CONGRESSIONAL RECORD, Vol. 159, September 17, 2014, Nos. 121-122.

Post 3404 now has approximately 497 members. Post 963 consolidated with Post 3404 in January of 2014, which added 90 members. An average of 3 new or transfer members have been added at each business meeting so far this year.

The Ladies Auxiliary has 138 members and is a very active group. Their Buddy Poppy Display won FIRST PLACE at the State Convention (another 1st for 3404) in June of 2013 and in 2014. They received several other awards as well.

This is no ordinary VFW.  This is a group of Devoted Freedom Loving Veterans that have served our country proudly and continue to support and comfort all our Veterans. YOU should be PROUD to be a MEMBER!

VFW Post 3404 welcomes new VFW Post members every month. Our post is active and has veterans from WWII to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Global War on Terror. There are even members currently serving on active duty and the reserves.

Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 6 P.M. at the Post.

The following link is to an article that was written for the News-Leader by one of our newest members. It is a very good read and each of you should read it. We should also all be very proud of our younger members for they, like those of us older, have stepped up to the plate to serve our country.

I would like to thank Jess Rollins very much for getting permission for me to link his article to our site.

Bucking national trend, I'll join VFW by Jess Rollins
